Achy Breaky Joints!
We all know aches and pains come with the gains, but we need to look beyond how our muscles react to our intense fitness regimes and be sure to pay attention to those glorious joints that DO take a beating!
Did you know most Chiropractors also recommend that if you’re 30 or older, you should be taking preventative steps to avoid joint pain? So how do we prevent Joint pain? So, let’s talk about this for a second. Joint pain is commonly thought of as referring just to knees, hands, and hips. The truth is much deeper. In our spine alone, there are over 100 different joints! That is over 100 various potential sources of pain in just our spines. So you can see there is a lot of reason (roughly 100) to take this article seriously and look into optimal joint health.
So let’s break down Joint Health when looking at Supplements.
There is one active ingredient that you find in almost every single Joint Supp. Glucosamine. It’s a natural chemical compound in our bodies that keep our cartilage healthy and spongey (for lack of a better word). Unfortunately, as with all our naturally produced chemicals and hormones, our Glucosamine levels dip as we get older, creating joint pain, arthritis, back pain, and an almost endless list of things we need to avoid to be able to stay in the gym.
Glucosamine is naturally found in certain traditional foods like chicken soup, Seafood, and beef broth. However, dietary restrictions or a busy life can stop us from getting what we need. Taking Glucosamine-loaded SUPPs helps prevent the degradation of our cartilage and even helps stimulate cartilage growth in our joints that need it. Additionally, Glucosamine is recommended for individuals to prevent joint pain AND treat it. So regardless of your age and your joint health, it should be an essential part of your SUPP routine and needs to be something we all think more about.
