The Muscle and Fitness Magazine Rock Hard ChallengeAt Strong Supplement Shop, we pride ourselves on the supplements we deliver and the information to help you get the most from them. So when we were approached by the publishers of Muscle & Fitness to be a part of their annual Rock Hard Challenge, we knew it was something we had to be a part of because we have a large pool of customers who are in the top 1%. Since 2001, the Rock Hard Challenge has helped readers transform their physiques through an extremely hardcore program consisting of training, diet, and supplementation.
The Warm-Up Is More Than Most People Do For Their Workout
While we couldn’t be more honored to be a part of this historic series and take a place among the giants who have come before us, in traditional Strong fashion we’re kicking things up a notch. The stack we’ve created to accompany the already intense training and diet regimen has been specifically designed to help take your shred out of the extraordinary and into the top 1% of physiques. While the program you follow will undoubtedly separate the boys from the men, a top 1% shred requires a top 1% edge – and thus, the RHC Shred Stack was born.

There are two parts to this challenge – the mass gain and the shred. During the mass gain phase you will be building as much muscle as possible in order to create the necessary foundation to yield that upper echelon look. While you could ignore this part and dive right into the shred, ignoring the foundational growth will result in a less impressive physique at the end of the program. In other words, if you have nothing to shred down to, all you’re going to end up with is a smaller version of what you were before. RHC Shred Stack That’s where Anafuse comes in to ignite your body’s anabolic furnace and ramp up the mass gains far beyond what you would typically be able to accomplish in a 4-week time frame. Anafuse is a dual bulking stack composed of the leading all-natural muscle maker, Laxogenin, and the plant-based antioxidant that helps myostatin, Epicatechin. Laxogenin has quickly risen the ranks over the past few years as the most promising natural anabolic, a category supplements composed of anabolic building blocks derived from plant sources with little to no androgenic effects 1. In fact, studies showed that experienced users saw up to 200% greater protein synthesis, equating to 10-20 lbs of lean muscle mass in just two months 2.
Similarly, Epicatechin is a natural compound found in plants like green tea and cocoa that helps decrease Myostatin, probably the single greatest limiting factor in determining how much muscle your body is able to grow 3. One study showed reduction of myostatin levels by as much as 85% 4, allowing for greater gains and overall retention. Anafuse by Vital Alchemy And because both Laxogenin and Epicatechin are naturally derived, they are non-toxic to your organs and do not increase blood pressure 1, meaning you won’t need any sort of on-cycle or post-cycle support. As you head into the shred phase of the program, you’ll be pushing your body and mind to new limits you might not even have known you were capable of. Unfortunately, shedding body fat normally means losing a portion of your hard-earned muscle mass as well. That’s why the second half of your journey will be accompanied by True Shred, the first ever true hybrid shredder that not only continues your muscle building quest, but also helps decrease estrogen levels and fat stores as well.
Similar to Anafuse, True Shred contains Laxogenin to help maintain levels of protein synthesis, strength, and recovery. This time we see Laxogenin combined with Colostrum, which helps reduce oxidative stress related to skeletal muscle breakdown 5. Simply put, Colostrum can aid in rebuilding and repairing muscle tissue while under stress from exercise. Considering the intense bouts of training you’re about to go through, this is a key factor in preserving and even continuing to build that lean mass. True Shred by Hard Rock Supplements But in order to reveal that physique that lies just beneath the surface, True Shred relies on 7-Keto, a natural metabolite that metabolizes fat and carbohydrate storage (read: excess weight) to increase thermogenesis 6. Additionally, 7-Keto can actually help lower cortisol levels 7, which when elevated make fat loss slow to a crawl and are naturally higher during times of stress – like when following a vigorous diet and workout program. True Shred then ramps up the fat burning power by coupling this powerful ingredient with 3,5 T2, a mimetic of the T3 hormone. T2 helps burn fat by increasing metabolic rate without eating away at your hard-earned muscle 8.
While Anafuse and True Shred will help you gain that 1% edge, you might be wondering how you’ll bring the required intensity for your workouts in a depleted state. We couldn’t leave you hanging – that’s why the RHC Shredding Stack also features Wild Thing, the number one ranked preworkout supplement that has users raving about the “unprecedented” levels of energy and focus from the powerful formula. Wild Thing Preworkout by Assault Labs Wild Thing accomplishes this monumental task by feeding both your muscles and your mind with a mix of amino acids and nootropics unlike any other. Nootropics have gained popularity over the past few years for their ability to enhance cognitive function and focus. Wild Thing boasts Noopept, one of the original nootropics with neuroprotective properties 9, and Phenylethylamine HCL (PEA), which also boosts cognitive function, mood, and focus 10. Trust us, when you take a look at what your program will entail over the next two months, you’ll be glad to have the intense laser focus and energy that Wild Thing provides. And speaking of the program, C.S.C.S. and owner of Heart & Hustle Gym Kevin Lilly has crafted a killer training schedule and macro-based nutrition plan to whip your body into a physique even you never imagined possible. The program requires six days a week dedicated to workouts, with full-body circuits four of those days designed to challenge every muscle with a mix weights, core, and body weight exercises and keep your heart rate up to maximize your calorie burn. You might want to puke just looking at the warm-up, but remember this: you have just 8 weeks to totally transform your body, so you better make every minute count.

  • Cb says:
    Is this just for males?
    • James Strong says:
Hi Cb- Thank you for your question. The challenge is for anyone who wants to go for it, we’d like to see all men and women give it a try. As for the RHC Shred Stack, it is for males only in its current configuration. True Shred by Hard Rock Supplements contains an estrogen blocker and its not intended for women. That said, the rest of the stack can be used by women, in fact women can substitute The Muscle Sculptor in place of True Shred to use for part 2 of the challenge if they’d like. Thank you again for your question…

  • DANIEL says:
Would this shred work on a keto genetic diet? Or would I have to alter the protein intake to match or overcome the natural fats?
    • James Strong says:
Hi Daniel- Thank you for your question. Everything is based around the work of Kevin Lilly, c.s.c.s founder of Heart & Muscle. I haven’t seen part 2 of the program (its a 2 part article in Muscle & Fitness, which Strong is part of) but Kevin is all about the macros so you’d need to adjust accordingly. I’ll say this, you will need carbs, no two ways about it, to be able to maintain the energy needed to do the workouts; but his is a low fat approach so I’m not sure that will work for you. The article will be out on the 15th of this month. We’ll post a link when its available online, or you could buy it in a newsstand or kindle or something like that. You can see what works best for you once you can dig into the details. As for the RHC Shred Stack – it is very complementary to the Ketogenic diet as well because its all about the protein and metabolizing the fat fast. Thank you again for your question…
    • Ryan says:
If your in full ketosis then I don’t see this and the workouts not working after all we either use carbs or fat to power the workouts so this would be any different, maybe a slight adjustment on fats and protien but you should be good.
  • TEO says:
hello, how to use this program? what dosage per day, anafuse and true shared at the same time or not? thank you
    • James Strong says:
Hi Teo- Thank you for your very good question. This is such a great question that I’m going to write a post about it. But, so as not to keep you waiting I’m going to give you the tl;dr version now. First, somethings you should know. 1. The article and program will be in the “Muscle and Fitness Magazine” on 3/15. As mentioned before, we’ll post links to the article online when its available. You can get the article in a Kindle or other magazine reader or at your favorite Newsstand if you don’t want to wait. 2.The article has good details about the workout and diet, but is not detailed about supplements so these guidelines will be helpful. TL;DR To use the RHC Shred Stack start with Anafuse during Part 1 of the article for the first 30 days to help build a greater foundation of muscle. Customers report that Anafuse builds muscle as fat is lost, they also say it helps dramatically with recovery. Most customers report it take 3-4 weeks for them to start to notice the changes with Anafuse so stick to the program and be patient. Plan on taking 4 capsules daily – 2 capsules in the morning, and 2 more capsules approximately 6 hours later. Make sure you always take Anafuse with food and plenty of water, also make sure not to take Anafuse 6-8 hours before bed. When you start Part 2 of the article (1 month later and in the magazine 4/15) Cycle onto True Shred (start your True Shred course). True Shred is very similar to Anafuse in that you will take 2 capsules twice daily. First 2 capsules in the morning with food and plenty of water and 2 more capsules about 6-8 hours later. Make sure to take with food and plenty of water, also make sure not to take True Shred 6-8 hours before bed. Customers report they start to notice changes 3-5 weeks after starting their cycle, however, you may notice the change faster since Anafuse will be kicking in. You will use Wild Thing Preworkout throughout the program starting on workout day 1. Customers report Wild Thing is intense and provides plenty of energy and laser focus to last through your workouts. Assess your tolerance first. Start with 1/2 scoop 30-45 mins prior to working out. If that is enough stay with 1/2 scoop, however, if you feel its not giving you the drive and intensity you want then go to 1 scoop 30-45 mins prior to working out. The Rock Hard Challenge workouts are extremely intense and having a top ranked preworkout such as Wild Thing can really help you out. Lastly, some women have asked about taking the stack. The good news is women can take the stack, however, they need to substitute The Muscle Sculptor for True Shred. True Shred is intended for men only as it has an estrogen blocker and may not be suitable for women. Thank you again for your question…
  • Raymond says:
    Where is the link?
    • James Strong says:
Hi Raymond – Thank you for your question. The link to the Rock Hard Challenge online will be provided when its published on the Muscle & Fitness site, sorry if I didn’t make that clear above. The article is out in print and available in stores, however, Muscle and Fitness usually waits a bit before putting it online. Thank you again for your question…
  • Christos says:
    Did this ever get published?
    • James Strong says:
Hi Christos- Thank you for your question. The Rock Hard Challenge has been published in the April 2019 issue of Muscle & Fitness Magazine, however, its not online yet. We’re not 100% sure when it will be posted in digital form but we expect something soon. In the meantime you can pick up the magazine in stores everywhere. As soon as we know we’ll post the link here. Thank you again for your question…
  • Josue says:
Can you do this with alpha lean instead of true shred?
    • James Strong says:
Hi Josue – Thank you for your question. Alpha Lean-7 is an option as a substitute for True Shred, however, its not an option offered in the RHC Shred Stack. Another viable alternative and one which more closely resembles True Shred’s fat loss and muscle gains support is The Muscle Sculptor from Vital Alchemy. Either of those choices can be a solid alternative. Thank you for your question…
  • Mateo says:
Hello. I just got the link to this post in your email newsletter received today. Unfortunately the April edition of the M and F magazine is no longer available on newsstands. Did the article ever get published online or should we forget about it?
    • James Strong says:
Hi Mateo Thank you for your question. We just go word that the article and full blown program is coming online shortly. If I had to guess it would be in a few days to one week from today. Which ever the case we’ll post a link to it here. Thank you again for your question…
  • Raoul Birchmeier says:
I just finished a shred and am under 10% body fat, is this worth me particapating?
    • James Strong says:
Hi Raolul- Thank you for your question. It depends – my personal feeling is that being under 10% BF means you are in the upper echelon of shredded gym rats now. You obviously have a routine and diet that are working for you. If you are looking to drop fat further, then you might consider the challenge. However, losing too much body fat can be unhealthy and you don’t want to go there either. As always let your body be your guide. Bear in mind, even competitive bodybuilders don’t go low for long. Most do a cut for a contest and then put fat back on afterward. As for your question about a prize – having a physique that is the envy of those around you and the personal satisfaction of knowing you have what it takes to get it done is the Grandest Prize Of All. But, no we are not planing any competitive prizes at this time although we plan to do some giveaways. Thank you again for your question…

Just now finishing a German High Volume program, going to transition to Rock Hard Challenge. Could you send a link, for purchase of stack. I didn’t see it in the “stacks” offerings. Thanks Rangers Lead the Way!!!
  • Tracy says:
    Will this work for women
    • James Strong says:
Hi Tracy – Thank you for your question. Women can use this stack WITH ONE SUBSTITUTION. INSTEAD OF TRUE SHRED WOMEN SHOULD USE THE MUSCLE SCULPTOR BY VITAL ALCHEMY. The reason being True Shred contains an estrogen blocker, which helps guys dry-up and harden muscle. The Muscle Sculptor is similar but it contains Laxogenin, a natural anabolic, as well as a powerful fat loss complex; no estrogen blocker here. The end game being it helps you keep the muscle you built in the first phase/cycle/4 weeks while you define and tone in the last phase/cycle/4 weeks. Its a great workout and a super great challenge. If you decide to do it please let us know how it goes. Thank you again for your question…
